Course Description: The anesthesia assistant is a vital member of the anesthesia team. This presentation emphasizes the active role that assistants will assume in the office preparation for and management of medical emergencies. The participant will become familiar with oxygenation, various airway devices, and the identification, indications and handling of medical emergency drugs. Syncope will be addressed in detail.

  • Identify equipment used to manage a medical emergency
  • Discuss ways to prepare dental office personnel for medical emergencies
