Course Description:

Cardiac rhythm disturbances are common during office-based anesthesia. This program will review the pathophysiology and significance of these rhythm disturbances as they present in various patients and situations. Treatment approaches will be discussed.

Course Objectives:

  • Explain the etiology of various atrial and ventricular rhythm disorders
  • Describe management options for office-based peri-anesthetic dysrhythmias
  • Explain the therapeutic goals of pacemakers and ICDs and how this affects anesthetic management
